In round I, 68 registered teams from high school/vocational high school students across Indonesia took part in an elimination round called the Preliminary Test. The questions given are 80 PG questions and 20 filled-in questions which are made in 3 different question packages. The questions consist of accounting and taxation material from an easy level to a difficult level. In this round, the 25 teams with the highest scores will advance to Round II of the Main Round.

In Round II, 25 teams competed in 3 types of competitions, namely Crossword Puzzle, Bingo Taxting, and Relay Detective Case. In Crossword Puzzle the 15 best teams were selected, then in Bingo Taxting the 10 best teams were selected, up to the Relay Detective Case, the 5 best teams were selected, namely:
1. Boy TAFT
2. Tiramisu Team
3. DAMOSIAN
4. SMK US2
5. US1 Vocational High School

Ranks 4 and 5 have automatically become Hopeful Champions 1 and 2, while the Top 3 will compete in the Finals on Saturday, 12 November 2022.
